Attached are examples of two decisions that Joe Duffy recently issued. Both decisions illustrate the approach that he takes in addressing the arguments made by the parties and explaining the rationale for the decision. These decisions have been reprinted with the permission of the parties

Decision One - This Opinion and Award is an example of a labor contract interpretation case in which the employer's decision to contract out certain work was upheld.

Decision Two - This Opinion and Award is an example of a labor arbitration case in which the employer's decision to terminate the grievant's employment was not upheld and the grievant was reinstated with back pay.
